Stop for a minute…
Every year I write a post about the last year’s resolutions and how they went through, or not, and the ones for the year that is starting. Why do I keep doing this? Usually it brings me a good feeling of accomplishment, along with a whole “what was I thinking” moment. It gives me a true vision about what I can, can’t do, and all the things I can achieve if I put my mind into it.
It also made me realize how quickly life can change and how we should embrace that change, and be flexible with ourselves: Just because I didn’t do everything I wanted to, doesn’t mean I didn’t have a hell of a year!
So, this year, I successfully wrote two songs from beginning to end, sang live 4 times (not counting karaoke), had many karaoke nightswith&without Live Band Karaoke in Budapest, and definitely drank more wine than tequila! I had lovely wine nights, lunches, dinners and brunches with amazing friends.I got into a gym (several actually) and went regularly for three months, plus started to run along the Danube - I guess it’s a bit of a win, but sure there is space for improvement. (Trust me, for me it’s HUGE).I got to know Prague, Sarajevo and Mostar, while I also travelled around Portugal – Even though, sure, it wasn’t a new country - I can say I saw it with brand new eyes, thanks to new friends and new experiences. I became an expert in the great mango chicken envied by all, so I am happy with the cooking experiments during the year.
So, sure! I didn't see all the Hitchcock movies yet, I didn't ride a rollercoaster, didn't pass my exams (which really sucks) and I definitely didn't learn salsa – I took some classes though – But, not only I walked barefoot by the sea (how I missed it!), but I also passed the#100happydays challenge, even when I didn't believe I could.
And this year… Well expectations are high I guess! It started great, with an amazing trip to Berlin. So, well, let’s try to visit 3 more countries again this year, shall we? Netherlands - Ticket bought, maybe it's time for Denmark! I also want to pass my exams this time, if possible, and start learning a new language – Let’s say, German, or Hungarian, and keep our fingers crossed! I will of course keep the old ones: See all Hitchcock movies, read Stephen King’s Dark Tower, take a weekly trip – somewhere, somehow – swim regularly&be in a minimal physical shape, sing live and continue to write songs, ride one rollercoaster, and of course meet Hugh Jackman – I should definitely try to research HOW to do this – And come on, let’s get to these Hungarian cities, it’s been long overdue!
